cross stitch finishes and WIP
I know it has been a while (yes almost three years since i have posted... and thought it might be fun to start this back up with actual effort.
So after watching Kimberly Jolly from Fat Quarter Shop (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTLki0rwIfQ&list=PLPwfsUojVe-evw8AarotMetbO25926a7J) complete the May 2019 mania I decided to join in on a teacher's summer mania. I actually could not wait until school ended and so I complete three projects already and am on my first 28 count cloth...
1. the first counted cross stitch project was given to a coworker who has retired this school year and i worked so fast on it i forgot to take a picture. I also (with help of hubby) framed my first project. normally i work hand the beautiful work to its recipient without a frame because it is hard to know the type of frame that would match their house, however I just finished watching the real housewives of cross stitch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3EX_WgjVzY use sticky board to finish a project and was inspired to try. The recipient loved it and loved the idea it was my first framing attempt. I did learn a lot and I am sure each time I will learn something new.
2. I completed the Whispering Winter by Modern Organics and as Kimberly on FQS has inspired me I have adapted the colors so i could use colors available in the Aurifloss box set I bought from FQS (https://www.fatquartershop.com/aurifloss-best-selection-aurifil-floss-box). it took about one week and two weekends to finish as I have joined the Orange Theory Fitness club and have been working out each day after work and so there was less time to work on crafts, but am starting to feel better
3. my racer dog rescued me is actually an adaption to my shelter dog rescued me pattern by Stony Creek collection (book 490). We rescued a beautiful fawn grey hound sept 30 2018 (http://www.brga.org/) and are enjoying life with a very calm and snuggle bug of a dog. it true that they like to run however this is in short spurts then they take over the couch for the rest of the day and sometimes week. I plan on making a few more to donate for the next auction for BRGA meeting.

4. currently I am working on my first Little House Needleworks, Snow and Ice pattern. on 28 count linen I did buy the suggested thread as it has been a long time since i have worked with linen. I plan on experimenting on more finishing techniques and will explore converting this into a small decorative stand - up pillow when I am done. interesting money savers and time savers: use the same linen for two projects (SLN stores appreciate when they do not have waste to try and sell, and new needle magnet (needle minder) so do not loose a needle in the couch (as the grey hound and family appreciate:)).
